What We Do
At Communal Dining, we bring people together through creative workshops, community events, and cultural activities that use food, craft, storytelling, and shared experiences to build lasting connections — across generations and diverse communities.

Creative Connection
Through hands-on workshops in crafts, zine-making, oral history and visual storytelling, we create joyful spaces for people of all backgrounds to explore their creativity, share knowledge, and express their heritage.
Whether it’s designing a community zine, embroidering stories, or sharing memories through images and objects, our workshops foster trust, laughter, and connection.

Food, Wellbeing & Sustainability
We use food as a way to open conversations and promote wellbeing.
Our shared meals, cooking workshops, and visits to local markets support mental health, healthy eating, and sustainability — while tackling the cost of living crisis.
Participants learn affordable, healthy cooking skills, discover new recipes and cultures, reduce food waste and meat consumption, and reconnect with nature through community gardens.

Building Confidence & Skills
Whether planting coriander seeds, printing posters, or sharing stories in a circle, our activities help people build skills and confidence.
Participants gain a sense of ownership and pride, learning from each other while shaping their own creative journey.
